Ingredients

Essential Ingredients:

  • Fresh strawberries – Choose large firm, and ripe strawberries with vibrant red color and green leaves intact for the best presentation.
  • Premium chocolate – Opt for high-quality Belgian dark, milk, or white chocolate for a smooth, rich coating.
  • Coconut oil or cocoa butter optional – A small amount helps create a glossy finish and prevents the chocolate from becoming too thick.

Optional Gourmet Toppings:

  • Edible gold flakes – For a luxurious Dubai-style touch.
  • Chopped pistachios or almonds – Adds a nutty crunch and Middle Eastern flair.
  • Shredded coconut – Enhances texture and brings a hint of tropical sweetness.
  • Drizzled chocolate – Use contrasting chocolate white on dark or vice versa for an artistic finish.
  • Crushed freeze-dried raspberries – A pop of color and a tangy twist.

Instructions

Prep Your Strawberries:

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. It’s essential that the strawberries are completely dry to ensure the chocolate sticks properly. If there’s any moisture, the chocolate could seize up.

Melt the Chocolate:

  • Break your premium chocolate into smaller pieces and melt it using one of two methods:
  • Double Boiler: Set a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Stir the chocolate occasionally until smooth.
  • Microwave Method: Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil or cocoa butter for a shiny, smooth finish.

Dip the Strawberries:

  • Hold each strawberry by the stem and carefully dip it into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the fruit. Gently shake off any excess chocolate to avoid drips. For an extra glossy finish, let the strawberry drip for a moment before placing it on parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Add Toppings (Optional):

  • While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your choice of toppings—chopped pistachios, shredded coconut, or edible gold flakes. This is where you can get creative and add your personal touch.

Let the Chocolate Set:

  • Once all the strawberries are dipped, allow the chocolate to harden. You can either let them set at room temperature for about 30 minutes or pop them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes for a quicker setting.

Drizzle with Contrast Chocolate (Optional):

  • For a fancy finishing touch, melt some contrasting chocolate (white chocolate on dark or vice versa) and drizzle it over the strawberries in a zig-zag pattern. This will add a beautiful and artistic look to your strawberries.
